Sharlet Forsyth, 85, b. Scotland, Presbyterian

The families are enumerated in this order:
Schafer, Samual Lougheed, John Forsyth Sr. and Charlotte, James and Alison McNee, John Forsyth Jr. and Mary

John Forsyth (Junior) purchased Lot 9 of Concession XIII for forty dollars on April 24, 1873 (Crown Lands sale). The 1878 Muskoka District Atlas map shows only land grants, therefore no one is named on lot 9, concession XIII on this map. However, John Sr. is shown in the 1871 census as a family head, living on separate land from the rest of the family, and as a tenant on Lot 9 of Concession XII and John Jr., on Lot 9 of Concession XIII, as possessing 200 acres. Lot 10 of Concession XII was located in July of 1869 and was Freegrant with the patent issued October 12, 1875.

Charlotte died April 19, 1881 which would have been shortly after the census was taken. John Sr. died November 7, 1894. Both are buried at the Falkenburg Union Cemetery.
